I was 8 when this came out, and I remember asking my Mom to take me to see it. The trailer made it look really funny, to my 8 year old sensibilities :)
She did end up taking me to see it. I think this was the first movie I saw in the theater where I was disappointed afterward. I think most of it was probably over my head.
I've never forgotten the trailer showing the guy with the masks. I think that was what hooked me. It's a memory that's stuck with me, and probably always will as long as I have a working mind.
Kind of makes me nostalgic just thinking about that time in 1990.. unfortunately, Mom died in 2007 of ovarian cancer. I really miss her sometimes, such as now, since I'm thinking back..
Strange the memories that stick with us sometimes, given how much else of our experience has been relegated to the attic of our mind, lost and forgotten. Why do I remember seeing the trailer for Ski Patrol, and going to see it in the theatre with my mom? Yet I'd be hard pressed to tell you about most of my childhood birthdays, etc.
Anyway, cheers and take care.
