love theme (Barley/Kayta) seems very familiar
very close to John Barry's "From Russia with Love (Bond/Connery)
I wonder if Jerry Goldsmith did that on purpose?

I'm sorry, but you are wrong.
I really love the work of John Barry and Jerry Goldsmith and they are composers with totally differnet approaches of music.
In my opinion, there is no similarity between the two works. In "From Russia with love" the budget for the soundtrack was very low, so an older Bond-Theme (not the classical 007-Theme) and the Titlesong were reused very often, which sounds extremly boring. There was more budget for Goldfinder and so you can hear the difference.
The Russia House is a jazzy soundtrack with a lot of romantic and melancholic elements, which ends in a very positive swinging sound, when barley welcomes katya and the family in lissabon.
