Saw it on HBO and it was awful. Eastwood was apparently honing his craft because the was a world of difference between 'Million Dollar Baby', 'Forgiven' 'Mystic River' and this clinker.
I think this film was the wake up call for Eastwood. He jumped on the buddy cop genre way too late. He knew then that the days of doing police/Dirty Harry type movies were over. Look at all the good, some great, films he has done since The Rookie.
