I remember watching this movie a long time ago on Cable TV. I know they release it on DVD in England and the release this with a different title called The Inquisitor. Do you know where a good place to find this DVD(under Inquisitor or Pit and the Pendulum)? The one I saw in stores is the Vincent Price version of that movie and I can't find this version anywhere.
I don't think it would work on my DVD Player since they only have this in the UK and can only be played on UK Region DVD Players.. I thought they released a copy of this movie on DVD here in the states. I guess they didn't.
Why don't you just get a region free player, or find out if your player has a hack. Here in Europe you gotta have a region free player, because there's a lot only available in region 1.
I have the full moon/Koch dvd release of this one. It was only around for a short period of time, and has been out of print for several years now. I did buy 2 copies of it when it hit the store,(I was running a Suncoast at the time),and I just fetched $75 on Ebay for it.
Just letting you know that Full Moon is releasing a Stuart Gordon box set with four movies, Castle Freak, Deathbed, Pit and the Pendulum, and also a 4th DVD with trailers and interviews with Stuart Gordon, its going for 50 bucks, it'll be out in September. If you're a Stuart Gordon fan, this is pretty sweet, I'll be picking it up soon. Check it out:
I have the set. Don't expect much on the bonus disc. The interview with Combs, Crampton, and Gordon is only 13 minutes long and there are five trailers for the movies Dolls, Re-Animator, The Pit and the Pendulum, Death Bed, and Castle Freak.
The Region 2 copy has a missing scene. It is when the husband of Maria is freed by the rats and then the guards attack him. There's a scene where the captain of the guards is literally split in two lengthwise by the pendulum. Every copy I saw of this movie has this part missing. Any body saw the full copy? Thanks
Echo Bridge Home Entertainment is set to release a new DVD of this film on November 9th as a double feature with Castle Freak. Hope it'll have some bonus features, particularly a Stuart Gordon commentary.
I know you asked this question a long long time ago, perhaps you have found the film by now. I just watched the movie tonight. If you haven't found it yet, it can be found on a disc with 7 other horror movies on it. It's called "Midnight Horror". The version of this movie is uncut as far as I can tell by reading other's posts. Here is a link to the film on Amazon.com:
