Example of a mediocre sub genre of the era
For some reason in the late 80s/early 90s there was a deluge of “romantic thrillers” involving some psycho stalking a yuppie couple. Such as Fatal Attraction, Unlawful Entry, Hider in the House, Hand that Rocks the Cradle, and this. Usually end predictably with the psycho stalker breaking into the couple’s house to try and murder them, with the villain faking their death only to reel back to life for one last jump scare before the husband/wife puts them down for good.
They were all clearly inspired by Play Misty for Me, which was also predictable.
