It seems one of the execs, probably one responsible for cutting out an entire hour of footage, told Barker he was "unintentionally" making the monsters sympathetic.... They're not really familiar with his work are they? *shakes head sadly*
Yes, James Robinson made a big mistake back in the day, but he is now on board and working to get out an official release of The Cabal Cut on BluRay, so better late than never. Things change and I appreciate both him and Morgan Creek as a whole getting behind the effort to get the extended version out.

It's happening. They announced that Scream Factory will release it in 2014 on BluRay and the people at Scream Factory said it will take a lot of work to get the old footage into good quality (details can be found in other threads). This couldn't have happened without Morgan Creek's involvement, which in turn was thanks to the whole Occupy Midian movement that was created once the footage was discovered. I am really excited about it. I have a book that details the original shooting script and have always dreamed of seeing the movie in a complete form. I read the Barker novel just after the movie came out way back in 1990. I need to read it again! I still have the hard back.
