Anyone glad this remake honors the original?

It's on number 8 on moviefone's top ten essential rules of making a good horror movie remake.

Who agrees with the rule on that article? and who thinks they should had added NOTLD 1990 in addition to Let Me In and Funny Games?

It is a good remake. One of the better remakes.

I prefer the original as it has more tension, in my opinion. I prefer tense, supernatural horror generally. The remake gave me nightmares as the gore was a lot more graphic than the '68 version.
