Why does everybody call this a shot-for-shot remake?

I don't remember Barbara being a badass in the original.
Neither do I remember her surviving.
So how is this shot-for-shot?

reply

Its not.

I loved the new ending with Barbara shooting Harry. It was about time that jerk got what he deserved.

Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings.

This is not a shot for shot remake, it's just a very similar movie.

Psycho is a shot for shot remake. (It's also one of the worst remakes ever.)

I have literally never seen someone call this a shot-for-shot remake until I just read your post.

I think they're trying to say that it follows the original very closely, but of course it's not shot-for-shot. I think it's because many remakes nowadays borrow the title of a classic film (a "brand" to Hollywood) and then make something entirely different. This one respected the original.

Cuz they only watched the first two minutes?
