what happened to the daughter in the cellar?

Not sure if you mean what happened to her to make her sick or what happened to her in the end of the movie.

She was bitten by a zombie before the family came to the farm house (we don't see this happen, but it is explained by Cooper later in the movie).

At some point, she dies and turns into a zombie. She kills her mother, then while all the pandemonium is happening after Cooper refused to let Ben back in after the failed attempt to get gas, the zombie-daughter wanders out of the cellar. Ben and Barbara try to shoot her, but Cooper (her dad) shoots Ben first to stop him. Barbara shoots the daughter, Cooper takes aim at Barbara and then Ben jumps up and shoots Cooper.

So long story short, the daughter turns into a zombie and is then shot.

Not sure what dkd13 is agreeing to since the message was deleted. It seems like the message was that the daughter passed by her father because he was her father. That wasn't the case though. She was going for him, but when she heard Ben speak, her attention shifted to him, and her father was already forgotten. Zombies don't really think, they just act on instinct. She saw her father, she saw food and started to go to it. Ben spoke, his voice distracted her. She turned to him, saw food, started going for him. Why she didn't turn back to her father agains when he spoke, I don't know. Maybe because Ben and Barbra were moving, which held her attention.

Anyway, to me, the daughter was the scariest of the zombies. She had that blank look on her face, which many of the zombies had, but for some reason it was extra scary on her. And the way she opens her mouth to bite as she's walking towards her prey, her face just twists into this freaky look. Her braces made her teeth seem more menacing too.

I agree, she looked creepy as. Also the zombie chick in the field with the doll. Very spooky.

Check out her IMDB biography.

NOTLD was the beginning of a career that's still going on.

She'll be 40 June 17 so Happy Birthday a few days early!
