why they changed the actors (theory)

If you notice, in the bookstore before Bastian takes the book, Koreander says something like "When you read a story again, it changes."

Maybe that's why they changed the actors, the story changed so the actors should.

If I think that, I will like this movie :D

Haha, well there's a theory. Highly unlikely though. Highly. ;)

It may have been somthing like that, but changing the actors is what put me off of the film. I really don't like sequels with a completely different cast

the real sad thing is that if this exact film was made, in like 1986, with the original cast, it would've been a great success

reply

I'm pretty sure the reason why the actors changes was that from 1984 till 1990 the actors that where playing the children were too old to play the same roles....

I don't really think AGE should have been a problem because it is many years later remember Kareander did say 'its been a long time' so the characters from the original to me should have stayed. The Bastian in the second one was good and his voice was high (All he needed was a long blonde ponytail and call him Brittany) :-). Kenny Morrison was good as Atreyu... BUT I think in this movie Noah should have played him because everyone LOVES him and he would do it better to me. And Tami Strong (is that her last name?) could have done good too, that child like emperess was... weird. IN the first one The boy would played Bastian (Can't remember his name), Noah, and Tami were like 8,9,10. Doing the second would have made them 12,13,and 14.

By the by... what's the point of changing Falcor's looks and voice! That made me mad.

They were 11, 12, and 13 when the movie came out, which would have made them 15, 16, and 17, which would have made them...wait for it...!TOO OLD! to play in this film!! Golly, learn to use IMDb...

^^This and I haven't read Ende in forever but aren't the first two movies the seperate halves of the book?

reply

Yes'm, or...yessir...they are two halves of one book, and don't even MESS with the third one, it was cheesy, and horrible.

I just though Bastian looked like a girl in this one. When I saw it in the theater I thought it was good but I had forgotten the first one.
