Question about Xayide

Did anyone else think she was hot as the witch or whatever she was...

reply

I did. I thought that she was extremely attractive. This, in turn, makes her seem all the more evil. It is sad that we haven't seen much of Clarissa Burt in films. She was brilliant in the role of Xayide.

She is the only reason i can watch this movie.

"She is the only reason i can watch this movie."

I don't mind saying that's exactly how I feel - I personally find her to be this film's one redeeming feature. And let's face it, she obviously got the part because of her striking beauty as opposed to her acting skills, but she was still easily the best actor in the entire cast (with the possible exception of Bastian's father). She certainly did play the part of Xayide well.

reply

Clarissa was perfectly cast as Xayide, because she was strikingly beautiful and wore that sparkly-red gown impeccably, and she also played the over-the-top menacing and haughty villainess in a way that made her quite memorable.

reply

Yeah, she was over the top and hammy (like all the other cast members) but at least she had charisma. She may have been one dimensional, but she was deliciously one-dimensional...acted with relish...a real character role (even if the lines she was spouting were downright risible). The rest of them were *just* over the top and hammy.

Oddly enough, the father, one of the film's blandest characters, was probably the best acted besides Xayide.

Ignore this post and disregard everything I told you in it, including this sentence.

She has that Hot for Teacher vibe going for her.
