Wiggle your ears...

There's a very odd line toward the end of the film where Gene Hackman is fighting off the blonde male assassin. While holding a gun to the man's head, Hackman says, "Wiggle your ear. Wiggle your toes. Come on. I wanna' do you."

I feel like this line was way too specific a line that is too far out of the character's normal manner of speech to be plausible. It seems almost certain to me that it is a "call back" to a previous scene, presumably between these two characters (?), that was deleted during editing.

Does anyone have any insights on deleted scenes from this film? Or access to the original screenplay? Or any connection to Hyams? Would love to find out more. Yes I know it's a silly little detail, but I love this film and I've always wondered about this bit. :)
