Anyone else think it was odd that the mother went for Lou??
Even for a movie, it seemed odd. A woman that sexy goes for LOU?!
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

At first I thought it was a bit odd, but by the end of the movie I understood the attraction.
shareShe probably had her share of hot guys who were all unreliable. I think her attraction to Lou went beyond looks which is probably why they seemed to have a stronger, longer lasting relationship than the ones she had in the past.
shareWell don't forget in real life Cher was once married to Sonny Bono :) So attraction is relative. I have seen enough good looking people all hot and bothered over plain or supposedly "unconventionally attractive" people not to think it's all that strange.

shareThe initial attraction did seem kind of odd, but it took only a few scenes to reveal Lou is the best person in the film and would be a catch for any woman.
I love Lou in this movie!
I loved Lou, too! He was charming and oddly sexy, even if unconventionally handsome.

The late Bob Hoskins was awesome. Who wouldn't choose him even if he was far from the standard pretty boy? Whenever he was playing a good guy, like Lou, he projected charm, likeability and good humour which is surely more important than pretty boy looks.
sharePeople tend to be more about the outside, than the inside now.
