Wow it was a different time then

At one point a mother expresses concern that her son is playing with dolls. Kimble assures her it's okay because he uses them to look up girls' skirts. The mother is then relieved by this!

It definitely was a different time then and to be honest I preferred it over today's world. Everything felt better back in those days.

I know! Today either the kid would be dragged in as a "sex offender" (at five) or she would be told "he obviously wants to be a girl. You better start the treatment right away."

^^This^^ The world has gone nuts.

The world has not gone nuts. People need to take off the rosy spectacles. It was no Nirvana but the the band of the same name were big at the time.

First you are only talking of a time that was 2 decades ago and it was if the Republican Party of the time were to go by full of sex, violence and degenerates.

It's that man again!!

reply

1990 was 3 decades ago.
No one had or even dreamed of having cellphones because at the time they were the size of a briefcase.

I noticed that too. It's also crazy to see everyone making a production out of a man teaching kindergarten. But the craziest thing is here you have a mandated reporter, a teacher AND a cop, hiding child abuse at the behest of the parent? What? Then he assaults the other parent? And I'm supposed to think he's a hero? It's kind of a fun movie to watch but yeah, times have changed.

Another scene like that, that comes to mind is when he sees the kid in his class eating other peoples' lunches picks him up, shouts at the top of his lungs to stop it, then drops him on the ground after the kid spits up all the food out of his mouth on him.

These days it would be the literal opposite - a male child playing with tractors would be of concern - he’d be exhibiting toxic masculinity.
