What was Jezebel really?

The obvious explanation is she is a demon. But does she also represents the realm of life snd earthly pleasures? She seems to represent the pleasures of the flesh and does not seem very spiritual - she comments on the children's names saying she doesn't go for that biblical stuff. A revealing scene happens when Jacob gets a high fever; she is dismissive of him at first but when she realizes he is close to dying, she does everything she can to pull him back to life.

I view her as a demon, tormenting him in his dying moments. Presenting him with this reality where he was thrown out by the mother of his children and one of his kids died, intruding on the happy memories of his family together. And as you say there is the way she prolongs his life to go on playing with him. She was great in the part.

She was a demon. Her goal was to keep him wrapped up in lies and fantasies stopping him from moving on.
