So, why has nobody compared this to the real life case?

If somebody has--sorry. I'm not searching every post on the forum to find it.

So far, though, it seems as though nobody has mentioned that Jacob's Ladder is probably also based on the Project MK-Ultra that went on in the early 1950's and some into the 1960's...where the CIA was allowing army researchers to give soldiers LSD without them realizing it or what it was or something to that effect.

Just sayin'.

No one has brought it up because it's the paragraph that concludes the film. We all assumed it was understood..

Just sayin'.

We've met before, haven't we?

never assume, you make an ass out of u, me, and uma thurman

yes, those real-life experiments were horrible. i'm thinking that it had to be something else that would've been the "Ladder" drug. so funny people (and the govt. wanted to use) liken it to LSD because i highly doubt LSD would actually create those desired effects of hyper-aggression, etc. i don't think monkeys, or men, would seek to crush each other's skulls in while tripping on acid!

I've read stuff about MK-Ultra but didn't make the connection that this movie dealt with that project until your post. that's super interesting. I wonder if the CIA had anything to say about this movie or if they had a hand in the making of it. very mysterious?

The tests referred to in the titles at the end of the film were not part of MK-Ultra. They were allegedly part of another delightful chemical warfare testing program called Project 112, this one carried out by the Department of Defense.

According to the allegations (and Jacob's Ladder), the drug used was not LSD, which probably would not have caused aggressive behavior, but an extremely nasty drug code-named BZ, which can cause aggression, although probably not, from the description I read, as reliably as the film suggests. You can read about it here:
