It did quite well at the box office in the UK. And video rentals were always healthy.
shareI read some article back around that time saying there was to be follow-up because it was a big hit in the Overseas markets. It did well on Video here in the US.I don't know how it floped here in the US.The trailers were all well recived.Especiailly when he says "you go in pieces".
Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead.
Lundgren really had no control over anything and it is a good movie. That being said Mattias Hues would go onto Kickboxer 2 (His last theatrical effort) Talons Of The Eagle, Digital Man,Bounty Tracker and Blackbelt. In all those films he was typecast as the badass martial artist and hence why his career went into obscurity. Also he really doesn't have the look of a hero, he's too big and unsightly to be anything but a villain. One that I may add he works extremely well in.
shareOne reason I think is that it was badly distributed in the US and especially with the new title "I Come in Peace". "Dark Angel" as originally titled, did well in Europe and Japan, it did pretty well in France...
shareTrue dat. I'd never even HEARD of the movie until it showed up on HBO one night. Of course, it had an actor from my favorite show (at the time - Dream On) in it (Brian Benben), so I had to check it out! Thankfully, Dolph did most of the assbeating.
shareDolph is apparently something of an intellectual. So, I wonder why he would choose a movie like this?
shareI guess you really haven't been following his career then... FYI this is one of his all time best movies!
shareIf that's true I better not watch anymore of his movies.
His best films are the one's where he isn't the star, Rocky 4, Universal Soldier, EX and EX2.
Dolphs early output like The Punisher, Red Scorpion, Men Of War and Jushua Tree are all solid flicks. Dark Angel and Rocky IV probably being the highlights. I have watched some of his late 90's-early 00 movies and those were usually pretty bad. Havn't seen his newer ones though except the EX series.
sharei love this film...one of the first cool movies i remember ever seeing matthias hues is one bad dude!!
can u think of someone blacker then billl duke????
