I'm sure a thread about this has been discussed in the past but it is worth mentioning again regardless. The musical score to this film was superb. The music during the opening credits is my favorite. Props to Basil Poledouris (posthumously).
shareI could not agree more. The Russian inspired music is glorious. I like the end-credits music best, although opening credits are good too.
I think this is Poledouris' best score.
Basil Poledouris was an excellent composer who often didn't get enough credit. His score for Conan the Barbarian is one of the best film scores I have ever heard, and I also love his scores for Robocop, Hunt For Red October, and Starship Troopers.
