Of all the 80's and 90's movies...

I am almost 50 (Hardcore Gen X'r). I have shown my two young boys every damn pop 80's and 90's movie under the sun from BTTF, Goonies, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, etc. and there is only one that makes them laugh and they ask to watch. Obviously it's Home Alone (with A New Hope being a distant 2nd). They just watched it again last night and laughed their asses off. As an old dad, I was shocked to see how much media from my youth simply doesn't play any more. It's either too slow, or the humor is lost on them. But something about Home Alone connects with them (They are 9 and 10 yo).

I know how you feel. My oldest nephew who is 13 doesn't care much as much for Arnold Schwarzenegger and also hated the original Jumanji cause he watched the newer ones first. He loves the Rock and thinks he's superior to Arnold. He's watched a few Arnold movies with me but they aren't his favorite. He also refuses to watch any Bill Murray movie outside the Ghostbusters movies.
