I still love it, but what disappoints me is that I don't find it rewatchable anymore as I did when I was little, and the actions were a bit too short than I expected. I also never noticed how Kevin's family were horrible to him and there were few plot holes as well.
This movie used to be one of my favorite childhood movies, but I do consider it just a good movie as an adult. Does anyone feel the same thing?
No, but it can matter when you watch it. You might watch it again next year and feel differently. I watched it 3 times this year and loved it everytime. I feel like watching it again even. Excellent as its always been.
shareI watched it this year after a decade-long fast and I liked it. But I watched it with my kids and I enjoyed their laughter. So maybe next year you should find some kids (nephews? Neices?) to watch it with and that might bring back the fun.

The whole leaving-a-kid-behind premise is hard to believe.
I agree that the kid's family were terrible all round. All the siblings are shits, the parents seem to barely acknowledge their family.
The acting by Pesci and Stern is OTT to the point of cringe. John Candy improvs his way through a wasted role.
The special effects from the booby traps are cheap looking.
