Is anyone surprised it have only 7.6 rating?

Without this movie, there is no Christmas. Me and all my friends love this movie. I feel it should be 8.1 rating, at least, it's easily the best and most entertaining Christmas movie to watch.

Not really. Some older movies tend to get below an 8 on imdb. Driving Miss Daisy and Terms of Endearment ,which both won best picture at the Oscars, both get ratings in the low 7s.

Best picture isn't a great measure for audience satisfaction especially since you need to consider when they released. Many of them have not aged well.

It's about what I expect it to be, years ago this movie was somewhere in the low 6's, it's also one of my all time favorite Christmas movies.

Without this movie, I wouldn't even notice anything was gone. I'm surprised it's rated that high. If it was the only Christmas movie left on earth, I'd leave the tv off and read a book instead.

7.6 is a very good score. I think it should be at least an 8 but its not a masterpiece like The Godfather is. Its a classic though without a doubt. Very entertaining, great story and great characters.
