Why weren't the parents upset over Uncle Frank calling Kevin a little jerk?
If my brother called my son or daughter a jerk I would reprimand them for their comment and make them apologize to my child.

shareThis movie is from a child's perspective where all adults are mean and uncaring to kids..
But back to topic: if one of my kids was acting like a jerk, I would be mad at my brothers for NOT calling him one.
From my perspective I didn't think Peter or Leslie were being all that mean towards the kids, I never knew this movie is from a child's perspective at all.
shareDidn't you notice that when Kevin flashbacks to both Jeff's and Uncle Frank's lines in that scene that they were said more angrily than they actually were in said scene?
shareYes I did, more so with Uncle Frank than Jeff, I also don't get why we never saw Buzz's comment earlier in the movie during the flashback scene.
shareThe family was unusually unfair to Kevin in both movies. They got mad at Kevin for spilling the soda but they don't really care that Buzz ate his pizza and mocked him, which is what led to the fight that spilled the soda to begin with. Something similar happened in part 2 where Buzz humiliates Kevin in front of the school but the parents don't get mad until he pushes Buzz. So it should come as no surprise that they are okay with Frank insulting their kid.
shareThe parents did become shocked and appalled by Buzz's pranks on Kevin at the choir but didn't seem to give Buzz any punishment for it, I kinda wished that Kevin would've kept his cool at the choir so we could see what happens to Buzz when they arrive home.
shareBecause look what he did, the little jerk!
