Why did Kevin say to Marley that he hadn't been too good this year?

I mean his family wronged him many times. Why did he say that he wasn't too good this year?

reply

I'm assuming it was because he wished he never saw any of his family again, and from his perspective, it came true.

reply

sounds reasonable. he was also regretting it afterwards so..

reply

The year is 365 days; we only got to see one day with his family.

reply

I agree. Maybe he was a troublemaker and that's why they took it for granted that with the pizza incident it was Kevin's fault even though it was Buzz's fault.

reply

Could be. Buzz was a dick, but Kevin over-reacted.

But when we were kids, didn't we always assume we were right and never deserved punishment? This movie is from a kid's perspective. I always thought my mother took my brother's side, and they tell me the same thing today..

Sadly, children who get treated like crap get brainwashed into believing that everything is their fault.

Your post makes me think of this.
