...and everyone overslept? You'd think there'd be at least one person who isn't a heavy sleeper and would wake up before the alarm should go off so they could wake up everyone in time.

most of them were kids on Christmas Vacaction. i know as a kid whenever i had time away from school my regular wake up time was around 2:30pm

Mine was 6am so I could watch cartoons.

Maybe i should have said as a teen. The only kids were Kevin, Brooke and Fuller the rest were teens or late preteens at worst

Yeah, but still enough adults to shift the odds towards somebody waking up at 5 or 6 AM and not being able to go back to sleep.

Im up right now a 6:50am and unable to go back to sleep. Obviously the Mccallisters are a bunch of damn slackers

For sure, uncle Frank certainly doesn't seem like someone who has trouble with sleeping.

I've always had trouble sleeping, especially as a kid, before having to wake up early for an exciting day. So yeah, it surprises me as well.
