Re-watching these movies as an adult, I have to say I'm completely dumbfounded at the amount of abuse Uncle Frank is allowed to hurl towards Kevin. If someone treated my child that way, he would've gotten his teeth knocked down into his throat, relative or no relative.

That subplot was deleted in pre-production. Probably felt to be too contrived and/or convoluted.

when he compared his glasses with a kid, I always want to drag him out of the TV and beat him to death.

Uncle Frank is jealous of his brother Peter. He takes it out on Kevin because he's a jerk and Kevin reminds Frank of a young Peter.
