I am still unsure if john cusacks character dies... which explains the fake blood, i think he faked it to makes him mum think he was dead as when she left the room to wash the blood off the suitcase was closed neatly, when she returned there was cash hanging out the sides.???

I think I get the gist.

Sorry Shaun - Cusack's character Roy Dillon really dies at the end and Lily takes all the money and runs.

That's film noir.
