What were Scorsese's duties as producer?
I have a question regarding The Grifters. Martin Scorsese produced the film. What are/were his duties in this capacity? Plus, do you think he should have directed it? Thanks.
shareNah im glad he did his masterpiece Goodfellas, and im glad Frears made this film, its a great film, both Goodfellas and The Grifters are my two favorites from 1990
sharei'm glad frears directed it as i sort of think scorsese may have been too obvious or graphic with certain scenes for some reason. and frears is very british in that he is more subtle and i love the music chosen for some scenes. it had this light but ominous sound to it that was great! scorsese can sometimes be too graphic in how he films stuff. grifters are like cats and they do seem to always be prancing around trying not to get busted.
