Why 'R'?

Why is this movie rated R?

The hour which gives us life begins to take it away. - Seneca

Sex, nudity, violence, gore - all the regular reasons.

Ooh, and don't forget the intimation of incest...

reply

Yeah, that's a big factor. I can't believe I left that out.

Annette Bening is naked in a couple of scenes, there is some strong language (not too much though, maybe 10 f-words). There is some violence and adult themes.

reply

...and let's not leave out torture while we're at it.

Sex, nudity and incest are the biggies. I doubt the crime bothered the MPAA overmuch.

Three words: full frontal nudity!

or: Annette Bening's bush.

reply

what a question! that's pitiful to think this would actually get pg-13 or something. maybe i'm a prude. let's see..ummmm...

full frontal nudity several times, lots of bad words, violence (beatings, burns, shotguns..etc..), and incest! wow. wouldn't want a 13 year old seeing all that.

reply

It got an M rating here down under, which is like your PG-13. The R seems a bit harsh.

You could have looked in the main page for this movie...
