First of all, let me say that I absolutely loved this movie. My heart just breaks for Roy, though. I am sure that is the writer's intention. He just gets so tangled up in everyone else's games. I know that he was also a con man, but as someone else in another thread said, he isn't evil. While this movie is one of my faves, it still makes me sad and depressed after watching it.

Each character in this film was a victim of sorts. But none so much as Roy.
The scene where Roy calls Lilly; wanting a mother/son reconciliation... Well that said it all for me.

This film, to me, above all shows how MotherLove can go good or bad.
And all the repercussions thereof....Poor Roy. His mother was Evil.
Bless his heart, he kept trying to repair what Lily had broken. To no avail..
