Why won't the studio pay to release a decent blu ray?

I cannot believe Lionsgate re-released The Grifters on blu ray using the same shoddy and faded print that was originally used. It's 2015 and this great film deserves a new 2K scan! This is horrendous looking (and sounding) for blu ray. There is no excuse that Lionsgate gives Chicago a brand new prestine transfer but blows off this much better film. Why not let a great company like Criterion save this classic. Because the way it looks, Lionsgate don't give a sh!t about this marvelous film.
Btw, the main menu only offers "Play". No chapters, no nothing. What a wasted opportunity for a special edition. Sad for us fans of The Grifters. 😞
