Really suprised by low score of this movie only a 6
Whilst I only gave it a 7/10 it was a highly talked about movie. I was suprised by the low vote tally and overall score.
What does everyone else think?

I loved it and still do. I gave it an 8 and still think it holds up beautifully years later.
Also, I utterly disagree that "The Proposal" is a real remake or "holds up highly." Really? I like the two leads but the story isn't ever about their inner selves, ever. Meanwhile, intriguingly, "Green Card" is ONLY about the inner desires of Bronte and Georges.
This film is about finding and defining home. You find it in the relationships, in the discussions, in the music choices (classical, New Age, and R&B).
I liked "The Proposal" for the performers but even years later, "Green Card" is a better, deeper and richer (and riskier) film. Then you add in the truly gorgeous and unique settings -- and that amazing greenhouse, right in the middle of NYC.
In short, Weir's Academy Award nomination for the script was justified.
