Why didnt Morrie just whack Jimmy to get his money back?

Morrie would have been better off tracking Jimmy down alone by himself having him killed or killing Jimmy himself, then robbing his house to get his share of the loot back, that way Henry or Tommy takes over in Jimmys place and the blame gets passed to someone else in Jimmys crew, like say Frankie Carbone or someone like that, either way Morrie would have gotten his money back.

But poor Morrie was too stupid to consider killing Jimmy in secret and taking his money back, Jimmy was not a made guy and thus his death would be viewed as a bad thing but not investigated, it wouldnt cause anyone to get whacked for doing it.

No offense intended Matthew, but you're always asking stupid questions like this. I seem to remember you also asking why Bonasera, the undertaker in The Godfather, didn't simply take revenge on the youths who assaulted his daughter all by himself. If you can watch Goodfellas and not understand why Morrie doesn't whack Jimmy I've got to question which parts of the film you did understand.

How exactly would cuddly Morrie whack a seasoned lethal gangster like Jimmy? Sneak up behind him and smother him with his chloroform-soaked toupee?

I wouldn't be so sure. They wacked anyone who was involved in the big hold up just to make sure they don't talk without any hesitation. I think they would totally be ready to find who's responsible for Jimmy's disappearance and if anything, a lot of "innocent" people would get killed in the process.

Jimmy might’ve not been a made guy, but he was treated like he was by many. Jimmy would’ve been avenged.

They could’ve had a scene with Morris preparing to whack Jimmy where’s he’s standing in front of the mirror saying: “are you talking to me?”

And then Belle could be like: “oh yeah baby that’s so sexy. Don’t forget to leave the gun, take the danish”.

This is a true story, so what is portrayed is what actually happened with these characters. Morrie didn't think Jimmy was going to kill him. Neither did all the other people associated with the heist who Jimmy killed off so he did have to pay them, or they wouldn't talk.

This. The movie is fairly faithful to reality. The guy Morris is based on got whacked. He wasn’t a know let anyway. And killing Jimmie wouldn’t have gotten him the money
