Should I Blind Buy This? (No Spoilers Please)

Hey everyone,

I only just discovered Frank Henenlotter's "Basket Case" and I absolutely loved it! So much so that I blind bought his other film "Brain Damage" which I absolutely loved as well.

Does this film have all the twisted craziness and delightfully fun over the top nasty gore like the other films? Should I blind buy this or will I be disappointed? Thank you so much for the help!

If you enjoyed those two other films, I think you would definitely enjoy Frankenhooker. It has much of the black humor as those two movies had.

However, I must give this advisory, and I'll avoid spoilers as you request by being generic in my description. Do not expect a full-on gore fest like the other two movies you mention. You should know that there is very little blood shown in the movie (and when it is shown it's during an off-screen death) and the killings are presented in a bloodless (but humorous) fashion.

If you're still on the fence, I believe Netflix has an unrated DVD for rental but all in all I'd think you'd be happy with the purchase. And this is from someone who just bought the Syanpse Blu-Ray. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for all the help everybody! I will definitely get this on Blu-ray now!

I'm 25 years old and I've been obsessed with horror movies ever since I was 15. My tastes range from the 60's to today although I usually only watch foreign horror and non-mainstream films from today.

This is gonna sound weird but it kinda warms your heart when you unexpectedly find horror gems like "Basket Case", "Brain Damage", and "Frankenhooker."

Thanks again for the help!

My advice to anyone who wants to blind buy Frankenhooker (or any older horror/splatter flick) would be to get a cheap DVD edition to watch. If you really like the film, you can get the Blu-ray later. That's what I usually do.
