Lizzie Potts is played by Diane Chambers. Right down to the smallest intonation of voice.
Movie was kind of fun but boy did it ever convince me that Shelley Long was born to be Diane Chambers and NO ONE ELSE. But that's OK too.

Well - she really wasn't all that (unselfishly) helpful in DTHIM either
My point was that she really didn't seem to be more than minimally different from DC - in other words, she really ate up the type-casting
And morevover - if she wanted to be nice to me ..... ;-)
Oh, I don't know. The scene where Emily takes Gus to Lizzie's house and her reaction is not something I would put in Diane Chambers' attitude.
She certainly is a bit more motherly here, to Gus and Annabel.
I'm quite a lovely person - apart from my terrible taste in pie.
The scenes between Shelley Long and her little girl are my
personal favorites from this movie. The blatant, no holds
barred honesty she gives the little girl crack me up everytime.
As much as I adore SL, she tends to play the same role and inhabit the same personae film after film.
