shareThe exterior of the practical house was located in Salt Lake City, somewhere in the northeast area of town as I recall. An extensive, two-story, 5,500 square foot house set was built on the soundstage at the old Osmond Studios on Orem, Utah. The set had a completely detailed interior and a partial front and back yard exterior that matched the practical house in SLC. The house set structure was fully "engineered" and featured a pre-fabricated steel framework to support the cast, crew, and camera crane equipment on the second story.
I know this to be fact since I was employed one of the construction foremen who worked on the film in the summer and fall of 1989.
