Deleted scenes

Are there deleted scenes for this movie. I hve seen pictures that seem to come from scenes not in the movie. Also it looks as if it was not edited together very well and there are sudden jumps in the story, alot of characters seem underveloped. Also is there an alternate ending.

Some things seem missing, such as Lynch's character getting arrested, one moment she is speeding away and reported as not having charges pressed and next we here she has been caught. There is alot of this which makes me suspect alot was cut. The same is true of 'Heaven's gate'

"According to some official sources, Michael Cimino's original cut of Desperate Hours was mutilated by producers, resulting in very badly edited film filled with plot holes. Only known proof of deleted scenes are some stills which show few of them."

I wish that deleted material would resurface. On paper the idea and cast of this movie have a lot of potential, but unlike the fifties version which was all about a non-stop acting battle between the criminal (Bogart) and the father (March), in this version the father (Hopkins, perfect casting) is left with virtually nothing to do and merges into the background. I suppose all the stuff that developed his character and pitted him against Rourke hit the cutting room floor.

Too easy to blame the editing. Yeah, it seems there are some scenes missing, but that does not explain away the absurdity of many of the characters' actions.
