Who Was Bothered By Victoria 'Becoming' Josette?

That was one of the geekiest bits for me; that Victoria wasn't 'outside' the entire 1795 storyline as she had been in the '60s soap.

With Victoria having no look-alike in the past, it made her stand out and literally be a member of the audience, wondering what was going on as were we, thereby allowing the viewer to also feel trapped like Victoria.

With Victoria now becoming the look-alike of Josette, that gave her a connection.

I didn't like this version's Maggie Evans as well.

I'm more bothered that you spelled Josette wrong.

Maggie didn't bother me so much -- I kind of liked that they made her psychic. In the original, Carolyn was more or less psychic as the years rolled on. But unfortunately, this version made Carolyn Steak Tar Tar.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

I had no problem with this as Victoria and Maggie were similar in the way the characters were written in the original series, which happens a lot in soap operas. So similar in fact that Victoria and Maggie were combined into one character in 1970's "House of Dark Shadows" and they called the character Maggie. In a sense that's basically what they did for the 1991 series as well combining Victoria and Maggie into one character thus allowing Victoria to take on the Josette du Pres back-story. Then they made Maggie Evans into a completely different character for the 1991 series.

They employed the same tactic for the 2012 Dark Shadows movie, combining Maggie and Victoria into one character again, and giving Victoria the Josette du Pres back-story.
