This needs a tv reboot

I would like for Dark Shadows to be rebooted for the 21st century. What network could pull it off? HBO, Showtime, FX, Starz, Netflix or Syfy, which could be able to do it? Maybe told from one of Angelique's descendent(new character, a teenage girl) or Angelique herself. Fresh new characters and some old ones with an upgrade, like the Collins family, Julia, Josette, Jeremiah, Quentin, and the vampire Barnabas. Supernatural creatures like Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, ghosts and Angels.

I thinks it would be cool if they were to do a direct continuation of the original taking place after the last episode of the original but set in the modern day with new actors playing the original roles.

I agree!!! I say HBO or FOX. Would love to see this show come back as a reboot!

hbo - it would be commercial free and you wouldn't have to worry as much about censorship (ie blood, violence, etc.)..

The original was dubbed into Spanish and distributed through all of Latin America and it was a big hit, so I've been hoping for years that Televisa would get the rights and do a Spanish-language version. The following things could happen:

1. Clean up all the continuity errors.
2. The story could take place either in Mexico or Spain.
3. "Barnabas" (he would need a different name) could come from the Renaissance, so there would be more generations to write about.
4. Incorporate legends like La Llorona (this one instead of the Wailing Widows).
5. Roger would be far more macho.
6. Angelique could still be French and morally ambiguous.
7. Probably new music, but that network has composers who could produce the right stuff.

I think they should continue where the original left off with David and/or Carolyn being the new owner of Collinwood. They could have familiar faces like Maggie Evans, Angelique, Quentin, etc. pop up occasionally but also have younger, new characters. But don't do it if it's going to be all about blood, gore, nudity, and shock value. A little bit of those things is okay but don't go overboard. Keep it more about suspense and atmosphere like the legendary original show and the wonderful 1991 revival series.
