Does anyone think it was unrealstic that Andy had no other family ?.

So why didit Andy go live with his grandparents or Aunt and Uncle?.

If Karen was an only child and had her parents (Andy's grandparents) were dead, which is all entirely feasible and possible, then it isn't unrealistic at all.

Believe it or not, orphans exist in the real world.

Either that or the rest of the family just didn't want to take Andy in. That was a small plot point in the horror film 'Mikey' where he did have relatives, but they flat out said put the kid in foster care.

its not unrealistic at all. andy's mom coulda been an orphan her damn self.

Who wants to bet that Don originally wanted him to live with his relatives in the original first draft to the script that was written in late 1989.

It's more unrealistic that a doll comes to life and kills people.
