I would of prefer if Kyle was boy.
I would of prefer Kyle being boy and having big brother finger to protect Andy.

shareI'm not sure if Kyle's finger would have been enough to help Andy is she were male.
All joking aside, I liked Kyle. The only thing I hated was they let the character go after this film when she should have at least cameoed in part 3.
The only way I'd have wanted Andy to have a big brother figure to help him out is if they kept Alex Vincent for part 3, then had his new big brother return to take care of him while he waited for him mom to get out of the institution. They could have still done the military school thing and had both of them attend, just make the big brother around 16 instead of just turning 18. Maybe get someone like Jonathan Brandis (RIP) to play the role. He'd have fit in perfectly as Andy's foster brother.

think i would have preferred if Kyle was still played by Christine Elise. in part 3 , instead of having an older Andy Barclay, they could have had Kyle be the central character. leave Andy out of the storyline for part 3 and say he is reunited with his mother. the audience instead follows Kyle to a big college university. not military school but maybe a strict university or something of that nature, where we see tough college professors and bullies and whatnot. have Chucky stalking Kyle while he attempts to target another young boy.
that would have worked in expanding the series for more installments. could end the film with having Kyle in jail or something. have part 4 pickup with Karen and Andy hearing about the incidents of the college on the news. would be really cool to see Karen and Andy in a sort of Terminator2 type situation. where its the two of them on the run from Chucky. have it end with the two of them getting to Kyle.
that would be the way to end the Child's Play series and have the 5th installment be Bride of Chucky.
having the big brother figure is good but i think it works better in that you have a young female be the target. if it were an older boy then you run into the whole teenage boy mentality of 'why dont you just kick the thing', 'why not set the doll on fire', etc. etc.
when its a female it just works better in a horror film.

I'd liked the fact that Kyle was female. I've always wanted a big sister and I thought she was like that to Andy.
shareNah. Too many dumb chicks in the horror genre. She was all right.
