What was Phil's deal?

He treated Andy like crap throughout, and seemed to overall hate children. He kept saying that he only just thought Andy needed more help than they could give him, but to me, it struck more so that he just hated the kid's guts. With his horrible attitude as a parent, I don't even know why he wanted to be a foster father from the get-go.

reply

Probably resented the fact he couldn't have his own.

he was disillusioned by fatherhood, quite understandable as kyle was not overly nice and then Andy was a basket case with alot of psychological baggage, like come on most foster/adoptive parents would be wary of a child that had gone through what he had and then been convinced it was a doll doing the murders. Andy was a psychologist's wet dream and a parent's[either biological or adoptive] nightmare.

Phil was an *beep*

reply

I am actually glad Chucky killed the jerk, i know that's mean but Phil was an ass.

reply

Probably just wanted the money and didn't really care about the foster kids.

reply

No, he did not treat Andy like crap. That is an exaggeration. He certainly did not act like he hates his guts. He actually treated him pretty fairly, compared to how some people treat children. In his defense, he likely was not prepared to handle a child, whom he believed was mentally unstable and likely needed a hiher level of care.

reply

Yeah, that guy was a douchebag.

reply

He was upset cause he could not get his wife pregnant & he had to 'sponge' off others offspring's. FYI, being and a$$hole will make you sterile so lighten up & get her knocked up.
