During the time after Phil was killed, she managed to go and sew? Wasn't the police and paramedics there still when Kyle found her or did they all ready leave?
She might have been sewing as a way of taking her mind off her husbands death. Of course she would still be in the house, different people grieve in different ways.
as per the novelization, the cops were leaving and getting into their cars as Kyle was smoking on the swing. in that moment Kyle is thinking about Phil and how he was tough but at least he cared enough to discipline her. from the swing she heard Joanne's sewing machine, thinking well the woman has to do something to keep from losing her sanity.then Kyle discovers the busted up Good Guy in the dirt.
so during the time Kyle is on the swing is when Chucky killed Joanne.
a lot of you on here some to forget how time flows differently in movies. just because they cut from scene to scene, does not mean that each moment is happening immediately after the other.
i mean the book. the book was based on the early drafts of the film. even has the original ending that was cut from the film's theatrical version.
every scene plays out the same but with more detail. even scenes that were omitted from the film are in the book.
it isna must for any hardcore fan to read the novelizations. they make for a far more immersive experience than a film that had to be edited down to 80 something minutes.
For some women, sewing is a way to soothe and take their mind off of things. She was probably using it as a way to grieve and lull herself after her husband's death.

Is there the TV version where it had scene add? It showed where the police cars started the engine and left the Simpsons' house and it cut to Kyle putting the Chucky doll down in the dirt.
I recorded it on my VHS a long time ago. Too bad YouTube user misses some new scenes of CP2. I'd love to upload it but don't know how to use it. I'll take any help.

Lots of people have ways to deal with dealing with the shock of losing a loved one. Her's was sewing which was unfortunate since the noise of the machine and her own mental fatigue kept her from hearing anything coming up behind her...
