R-Rated Version?
My version of the movie runs at 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 43 seconds. Does anyone know if this is the R-rated version or not?

shareI have it on dvd which came out a few months back and its the Rated R version.
share Thank you for that information. I guess I'm going to have to buy the unrated VHS now.
Thanks again.
Or you can buy it on DVD:

Runtime is listed as 99 mins anyways...
the R-rated version lists the film as 99mins on the back cover

i have the pioneer special edition that has BOTH the R-rated and the unrated version on it. the R-rated version is listed as 96 minutes and the unrated is listed as 97 minutes. this is definitely the best edition to get, if you can find it. lots of extras, plus both versions of the movie. the commentary is also hilarious.

I thought they were the same... I've seen both VHS versions and didn't notice a difference and I'm a gore hound. Blockbuster had a tape that said rated R but on the inside had an unrated version so I rented it, a while back but I didn't notice much more, it's like the original or Beyond(which the unrated is soooo much more graphic than the SciFi or dvd cut). They tricked on Castlefreak though, those Jewish bastards!
shareI compared both R rated and Unrated cuts together a while back and there is very little cut. All the cuts occur at the end. In the unrated cut we see the camera do a fast zoom close in on the zombie's hand as he grabs the machette, as the Bride pulls her heart out there is a lovely frontal shot showing her pulling her heart out into the camera, there may also be a longer shot of her head seperating from the neck. Im pretty sure of that last one but the rest are dead cert cuts to the R rated version. If you didn't know it was cut you probably couldn't tell.
shareTheres alos a widescreen version of this dvd with loads of extras

You can find this tasty dvd on ebay a lil pricey but if oyu like widescreen and want all the Special Features that i think you sould get it im getting my copy VERY soon dont like the fullscreen only Trailer one.
There's A DVD that has both R and Unrated Versions Don't They Still Have iT? I just got it from a store.
shareThe unrated cut= extra blood in every scene, and an extended meltdown sequence. 1 minute was cut for an R. For some reason the R-rated edition skimps out on blood squirting. Like the previous poster said, it also has the bums hand getting cut. It's worth getting. I also have the pioneer edition.

Oh, the arm amputation/ cauterizing is also a pretty big addition.
shareThe R rating on the Artisan disc is wrong, it's unrated. The Pioneer disc is the best version however. See dvdcompare.net to see the various releases from around the world, great site.
