Australian dvd question

On dvdcompare.net it states that the unrated pioneer dvd runs approx 97 mins, and on the back of the region 4 dvd release it states that the run time is 96 mins. Now i know that the 1 minute time difference could be do to PAL speedup, but i also know that Australia is infamous for censoring there films. does anyone know if this dvd is uncut? and if the picture quality is any good?

reply

yeah i wanted the uncut version also and with the extras like the pioneer edition.that was discontinued so i bought the australian unbrella dvd which hed the extras hopin it would be uncut.the transferr is good in anamorphic,if a little fuzzy.i dont think it is the unrated version cos when the bride falls appart you only see a small piece of her splitting in two.in the makin of it shows the scene and you see more,a fromt angle of the split,i can only assume this is the scene from the unrated version as i cannot find a conparison site that lists this dvd, hope this helps.this is still a worthwile dvd to get as it has the extras and buy reading some reviews not alot is missing anyway.still would like the uncut version though.......

I know it's a bit late but I can guarantee that the aussie dvd is totally UNCUT.The pioneer version is good but over rated and over priced as it is now deleted. You could buy the latest region 1 dvd and get a better transfer and also buy the region 4 dvd for the special features and it still would be less money.

This Australian Umbrella Entertainment DVD is an NTSC to PAL conversion. Thats why it's runtime is identical to R1 DVD (no PAL speedup) and horrible picture quality. And by the way it's non-anamorphic.
