Ideal Cast
I always thought the movie would have been great with William Hurt as Sherman and Peter O'Toole as Peter Fallow.

I agree, Eckhart would be an ideal Sherman. If I were to recast an adaptation of Bonfire today, I think I would do it like this:

the only ones i really dissent on are kovitsky(i still think alan arkin, who was originally cast in the first movie would be ideal) and albert vogel(when reading the novel i saw him as brian doyle-murray)
