I only recently just watched the movie and was blown away by it.
I just wonder why deNiro was nominated as best actor and not supporting actor and Robin Williams as best actor. Anyone else agree?
I wonder if back then there was a controversy about it. Anyone knows?

Asking around about the story myself but it seems so long ago I just looked around myself. Would like to hear from somebody who actually remembers but I'm sure that's a long shot !!

Unfortunately, none were victorious, but Deniro did win Best Actor the following year for Cape Fear.
DeNiro did not win for Cape Fear either. His"only" Oscars are for The Godfather II and and Raging Bull. Anthony Hopkins won for Silence of the Lambs that year.
