Coincidence I noticed

I saw this on TBS yesterday, and this struck me as funny because earlier this week, I was watching my copy of the first Lethal Weapon on DVD. The reason that has anything to do with anything is this: First, Mel Gibson is in both movies and in both movies he was in Southeast Asia (a Vietnam vet in Lethal Weapon). Second, the Tom Atkins character, Hunsaker, mentions to Murtaugh (Danny Glover), that after they parted ways in Nam, that he ended up in a group called Air America, "a CIA front" as he says. And also mentions that they were smuggling the opium from the VC's and turning it into heroin, which they had been bringing in ever since.

My conclusion is that I think that besides the book that this was based on, that that part of Lethal Weapon was also an inspiration for this movie, probably also why Mel Gibson ended up being in it (despite being one of the good guys in Lethal Weapon).

Thats my two cents
