O'Connor and John didn't get it.

They were so quick to condemn Dice as being male chauvinistic and a homophobe that they didn't see that this was all just part of his mocking personna. He was portraying someone who is true to the hood (Brooklyn). That means taking the good with the bad. Now, how can anyone make a statement about anything without offending some group? I remember Sinead O'Connor made a big stink and got Dice dropped as host of SNL. I thought this was complete nonsense at the time, and think even more so today. But I don't personally think Dice is offending any group. In that case, you would have to shut out nearly every humorist in American history, including Mark Twain (who himself could use swear words to effect and say outrageous things that could offend some if interpreted literally).

Dice was dropped as host on SNL. She didnt want to do the show with him. He hosted and got huge ratings.

Dice was NOT dropped, and it was a great show; catch it if you get the chance to see a rerun.

Dice is still working, can't say the same for Sinead; and Nora whatshername was lucky to still be in the cast after the 1985 housecleaning.
