Harvey Nigel Baines

The only reason to watch this show for me was Harvey do'nt get me wrong i liked Tom and Diana but the relationship with Harvey and Jane was the best.

reply

Harvey had his moments, but they were usually only because of Dianna. Personally, I think Dianna carried the show!

Secondary characters can be an outstanding asset to a show.
For example, I used to watch "The Andy Griffith Show" regularly, not only because of the three main characters -- Sheriff Taylor, Aunt Bea and Opie -- but also because of the characters who surrounded them -- Barney, Goober, Gomer, Floyd, etc.
Those characters were well written and well played by fine actors. The ensemble was right.
I'd be interested to hear from other TV viewers about shows they liked because of the secondary characters who inhabited them.

Watched Mary Tyler Moore for Rhoda, Sue Ann and Ted.t ever
Bewitched for Endora and Uncle Arthur.
Keeping Up Appearances for Onslow and Daisy.
Beverly Hillbillies for Miss Jane.
Phyllis for Mother Dexter.
Seinfeld for Newman and Kramer.

I could go on, almost everything I have ever watched was because of the
supporting cast.

This show was one of the best as far as the supporting cast were concerned: Harvey, Jane, Geoffrey & Marion were fab, & I also loved Basil!
