Wouldn't A Patrick + Pippa Spinoff Be Awesome?

I've always kind of rolled my eyes at spinoffs, but I think it would be great if in the next ten years a spinoff featured around Patrick and Pippa, as if they are the next generation of the unluckiest couple in the world. It was kind of implied, especially in the last series or two (in my opinion at least), that Patrick was ironically like Victor Meldrew, and when crazy things began happening to him even after they had moved away from the Meldrews, it was as if they had 'caught' the unluckiness that followed Victor around.

I think a kind of 'passing the torch' thing would be awesome, so after Patrick had gotten unlucky from being around Victor, he eventually passes it to someone else too. The only problem is that it's hard to recreate the same quality of writing so many years after - there are so many television series that have gone downhill, or restarted and it 'doesn't feel the same.' But I think the concept is great and would love for it to happen with the same level of hilarity as OFITG.

I disagree. The characters' personalities are not right.
Victor and Margaret had strong personalities, which allowed them to interact well. I don't see that relationship between Patrick and Pippa, who (to me at least) was not interesting or sympathetic – or empathetic, for that matter.
The scriptwriter would have to develop a brand-new Pippa to make the project viable, or develop a totally different situation with a different actress. That in itself would void the idea of an OFITG spinoff/continuation.

I kind of agree that the personalities are not as strong as the Meldrews, but to me that's because they're secondary characters, and we didn't get to see any of their softer moments or anything. It sounds like you really find Pippa annoying lol...but I thought if the characters were explored a bit more, we might see things that makes the pair of them redeemable? We'll never know I guess.

Would be interesting but would need a lot darker tone. Patrick was just an evil man and he got everything he deserved where as Victor was most of the time was the victum of cerumstances one of the best involving Victor and Patrick was with the Wine, Patrick has it delivered to their house without telling them how were they to know and what does Patrick do destorys loads of them knomes.

That's true actually, it never occurred to me how much more belligerent Patrick is than Victor...maybe you and the first replier were right and P&P wouldn't have the like-ability that V&M have.
